If you want to build a fragrance-free routine without wasting money on disappointing products, start here. These are the face, body, hair, and household products that earned a place in our own routine after hands-on use.
These picks come from products we have used ourselves. In August 2026, we checked that they were still sold in the US and labeled fragrance-free. When a product had changed or disappeared, we chose another option we had used.

How we chose these products
Every recommendation below is based on our own use of the product, sometimes over several years. We chose products that did their job and were pleasant enough to use every day. Where we ran a direct comparison, the detailed guide is linked.
We also checked the current US product pages and fragrance labels. Fragrance-free does not mean botanical-free, and it does not mean that every ingredient will suit every person. If you avoid plant extracts, essential oils, or a diagnosed allergen as well as fragrance, read the full current label. Our guide to fragrance-free, unscented, and hypoallergenic labels explains what the terms mean, and our ingredient checker can help you read a cosmetic ingredient list.
Face care essentials
Clinique All About Clean Liquid Facial Soap
Clinique's Three-Step System has been part of our skin care routine for around two decades, and the All About Clean Liquid Facial Soap is still our favorite place to start. It cleans well without leaving our skin dry, tight, or irritated. Clinique currently sells the fragrance-free soap in formulas for different skin types, so choose the version that matches yours.

Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2
Clarifying Lotion 2 is the exfoliating step in the routine and another longstanding favorite. We used the version for dry-combination skin. It was good at lifting the dull flakes and residue left after cleansing without adding perfume to the routine. Clinique now lists acetyl glucosamine and witch hazel as its key ingredients.
This product is not a moisturizer despite the word lotion in its name. It is a leave-on exfoliating liquid, so use the formula intended for your skin type and follow Clinique's directions.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+
Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ has been a lifesaver for our highly sensitive skin and a reliable go-to for about 20 years. It absorbs quickly and hydrates well without turning a simple routine into a complicated one.
The current fragrance-free formula is made for very dry to dry-combination skin and features urea, glycerin, and what Clinique calls pro-lipids. If your skin is oilier, choose the Clinique moisturizer made for that skin type rather than assuming the yellow lotion will be the best fit.

Body and personal-care essentials
Vanicream Anti-perspirant / Deodorant
The Vanicream Anti-perspirant / Deodorant is one of the strongest everyday recommendations on this list. We tested it for several weeks in Southern California summer heat. It controlled odor and sweat throughout the day, and we did not notice white marks on our clothes.
This is an antiperspirant, so it contains 20% aluminum zirconium trichlorohydrex gly as its active ingredient. Vanicream also sells a separate aluminum-free deodorant, but it is a different product, so this result does not apply to it. See our fragrance-free deodorant comparison for the full breakdown.

Vanicream Moisturizing Cream
For cracked hands, heels, elbows, and other stubborn dry patches, Vanicream Moisturizing Cream is hard to beat. The cream is dense and rich, which is exactly why it works so well on small dry areas. We found it too thick for convenient all-over daytime use.
The current formula is free of fragrance, masking fragrance, botanical extracts, and essential oils. Our full Vanicream Moisturizing Cream review covers the texture and the best ways to use it.

Vanicream Gentle Body Wash
The Vanicream Gentle Body Wash has a thicker, silkier texture than many liquid body washes. It did not feel sticky, had only a neutral ingredient smell, and left our skin clean without the dry feeling we get from harsher washes. It remains one of our favorite fragrance-free body products for daily use.
The current formula is soap-free, sulfate-free, and made without botanical extracts or essential oils. It also carries the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance. Compare it with our other fragrance-free body wash picks.

Eucerin Advanced Repair Lotion
Eucerin Advanced Repair Lotion is our pick when a light body lotion is not moisturizing enough but a heavy cream is inconvenient. It felt smooth, absorbed quickly, and did not leave a greasy film in our test.
The current fragrance-free formula includes Ceramide-3, urea, and lactic acid. Because it contains an alpha hydroxy acid, the package carries a sun-sensitivity warning. This is the lotion, not the thicker Eucerin Advanced Repair Cream featured elsewhere in our dry-skin lotion guide.

Hair care essentials
No Nothing Sensitive Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner
The No Nothing Sensitive Moisture Shampoo lathers well and cleans thoroughly without a noticeable perfume. We used it for several months and did not experience irritation during that test. The current ingredient list contains sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), not sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS).
The matching Sensitive Moisture Conditioner is a particularly good fit for fine or dry hair. We found it moisturizing but lightweight, and it left the hair soft and easier to comb. Both products are currently listed by Finland's Allergy, Skin and Asthma Federation.

Our shampoo and conditioner guides include more options for different hair types: compare fragrance-free shampoos and compare fragrance-free conditioners.
Vanicream Hair Spray
The product we tested as Free & Clear Firm Hold Styling and Finishing Spray is now called Vanicream Hair Spray. The product page notes that the name changed but the formula did not, so our longtime experience still applies.
This is a good hair spray when you want a light, natural-looking finish without sticky residue or stiff hair. The tradeoff is right in the result: its hold felt softer than a conventional firm-hold spray. Read our full Vanicream Hair Spray review or compare our favorite fragrance-free hair sprays.

Hand-washing essential
Seventh Generation Hand Wash, Free & Clean
We used Seventh Generation Hand Wash, Free & Clean every day. It lathered well, cleaned thoroughly, and did not leave our hands feeling dry. That combination matters more than novelty in a product you may use many times a day.
The current product is made without fragrance, dyes, or triclosan. It does contain aloe, so it is fragrance-free but not botanical-free. See how it compares with our other fragrance-free hand soaps.

Laundry essential
all free clear Odor Relief
all free clear Odor Relief Liquid Detergent is our current laundry recommendation from the products we have tested. The version we tested earned 4.5/5, cleaned well, and was especially good at removing tough odors. Our former OXI winner was a little better on difficult stains, but Odor Relief came close.
all still sells Odor Relief, and the current liquid is labeled 100% free of perfumes and dyes. The exact all Stainlifters Free Clear with OXI product we rated 5/5 is no longer sold under that name. Its closest successor is all free clear Advanced OXI. We plan to test Advanced OXI next. Until then, the 5/5 result belongs only to Stainlifters OXI. For more tested options, see our laundry detergent guide.
Lubriderm's reformulated lotion
Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion Fragrance-Free
The older vitamin B5 version of Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion Fragrance-Free earned 5/5 in our body lotion comparison. It absorbed quickly, moisturized well, and did not feel greasy. Lubriderm has since introduced a materially different formula with Pro-Ceramide, shea butter, and glycerin.
The current Lubriderm product is still sold as fragrance-free, but it is not the formula that earned our 5/5 rating. Until we test the reformulated lotion, it is not one of our current picks. Our body lotion guide has current alternatives.
